Welcome to Dutch Angling Club "Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee"
Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee is de name of an angling club in the South-West part of the Netherlands, located about 50 km southern Rotterdam.
The name of our hometown is Dirksland, a small village located on the beautifull delta island Goeree-Overflakkee. Although we have lots of members
fishing at the Northsea, we are mainly a freshwater angling club.
Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee (SGO) was founded on January 1, 2007 when three different angling clubs decided to join strenghts in one new
angling club. The former angling clubs were: "HSV De Viscromte" ,"HSV De Krammer" and "HV Stellendam". The name for the new founded angling
club became "Sportvisserij Goeree-Overflakkee" (abbreviation: SGO)
Sportvisserij Goeree-Overflakkee has 1416 registered members (2009), including 242 youth members. From all registrated members a number of 200
members are active in competition- or during recreational activities in the different divisions of Middelharnis, Oost-Flakkee, Dirksland and Goedereede.
Lots of volunteers are active within several committees for match, carp, youth and senior members.
Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee is a member of the National Federation of Anglers in South-West Netherlands and the Dutch National interest group of
Sportvisserij Nederland.
For all freshwater fishing activities on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee you need to have:
- a fishing pass (VISpas 2010) of Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee, including the accompanying booklet entitled Lists of Fishing Waters,
- a registered license (List of Fishing Waters of Sportvisserij Goeree-Overflakee) for fishing in all waters owned by our angling club.

As a sport angler you will have to pay heed to a number of laws and rules, for example, relating to
required fishing documents, periodic bans on certain bait and fish types, minimum size fish and
protected fish.

including a Frequently Asked Questions document, a Code of Conduct Sport Fishing, and
Fisheries Act & Rules.
For fishing activitieis on water of the National Federation South-West Netherlands arround the island of
Goeree-Overflakee (like Haringvliet, Volkerak, and Grevelingen) you only need a registered Fishing Pass
(VISpas 2010), including the accompanying booklet entitled Lists of Fishing Waters.
Please be aware !
Sportvisserij Goeree-Overflakkee has fishing rights only for inland fishingwater on the island of Goeree Overflakkee as mentioned on page 2 of our
licence (List of Fishing Waters Angling Club Goeree-Overflakkee).
It is strictly prohibited to fish in all other inland waters on Goeree-Overflakkee, who are not mentioned in the List of Fishing Waters of
Sportvisserij Goeree Overflakkee.
Violation of the fishing rules as describted in your VISpas and licence documents can lead to serious fines !!
Before planning any fishingtrip on Goeree-Overflakkee, please check your licence and terms of conditions carefully in advance to avoid serious fines
and penalties during checks by control civil servants and law-enforcement officers of the National Federation of Anglers, local police, or control servants
of Sportvisserij Goeree-Overflakkee.
